Volunteer Life in 西安 Xi’an!
NEW! Countryside Primary School 农村小学

This page is dedicated to the 12 weeks I spent in the city of Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, China, while volunteering with the non-profit cultural exchange organization Cross-Cultural Solutions during the summer of 2005. As of June, 2006, all of the photos I plan to post are on display here, though I may still post some other entries on the experience in the future. It was an experience that truly changed my outlook on life … how could I not change after living there for 3 months?!!! I plan to go back to China in the beginning of 2007, maybe February or March, first spending some time in Beijing and the surrounding area, then taking the train around to eventually end up back in Xi’an. You can be sure that I’ll be taking lots more photos once I’m back there, and I’ll be sure to post the good ones online!

Surprised to visit your great web site and honored to be the first comment replier. We've never thought that our pictures will be published on the web
from the States. We thank you for your work to share the story of Da Yan Ta and Xuanzang with everyone who comes to your web.

Possibly we will introduce this site to our friends so that you could have more visitors. In the future, we will send you more pictures from our travellings around China.

Hope to see more from you.

I've been to Hua Shan Mt. for 3 times, in which the last time was my trip with my "former girlfriend" - now as my wife. I have to say you are very lucky to see moutains in clouds sea, wonderful view sight!

However, Hua Shan on your web was translated wrongly into Chinese, which should be correctly written as "华山". I wish you could read this and edit it accordingly to have your web developed more.

Come on, at least you have one follower like our family.

I was totally not expecting these updates...I'm so glad to hear (and see!) that you're doing well! How totally cool to be in Xi'an. I was there in 1997 with my family, but it looks like you're having a much richer experience than I did. I'm sure the old crew is envious.

    Hi 大斌,
Your website is wonderful! I can see your passion in exploring different culture.
I think you are giving a very positive image of American to the Chinese people.
    Thanks!

Have you visited my website? Funny that both of our websites have the word "horizon" in it.

    See you in Bean Town!
